Dangit, So You Think You Can Dance?

by Lucky Red Hen on June 28, 2007

[edit]

WARNING: SPOILER (do not read if you don’t know who was cut this week)…

Do any of my readers watch So You Think You Can Dance?

If so, how’d you feel about tonights elimination of Jessi Peralta?

I am disappointed about her being eliminated so soon. Her performances have been strong and I absolutely love watching her and Pasha together. There are other girls that are better dancers on the show, and she is not my favorite, but she is at least 2 weeks away from being cut in my opinion.

Wish the judges would’ve given more insight in their decision making process because I just don’t get it. Is it because she has fallen for Pasha, the emergency incident yesterday or her desire to be an overall performer and not JUST a dancer?

Dangit. That bums me out. Somebody want to make me feel better here?

I'm a Right Clicka

by Lucky Red Hen on June 26, 2007

I know it’s silly, but I have a thing for the Mac vs. PC commercials and now I have a favorite song for the week.

Junk Mail Stories?

by Lucky Red Hen on June 21, 2007

Could someone please explain to me these annoying junk mails that are mini stories or something or other. What’s the point? There’s nothing but a story, nothing to sell or links to get you to go anywhere.

“Walking toward her he seemed straight out of a movie. Not any movie but the kind that it’s obvious he’s way too good looking for her and she’s less than average. Though she wanted to turn away for fear he’d embarrass her, it was as if she was frozen in her tracks, unable to resist the desire coming her way.”

Q: How do I get them to stop or is it a part of the online life I lead?

Father's Day Weekend

by Lucky Red Hen on June 18, 2007

We had a friend stay with us over the weekend (he was our best man at the wedding) so we took him up American Fork Canyon (it’s about 2 minutes from our house, just around the corner) to Tibble Fork Reservoir. The place was packed but I got a few pics while we walked around (the last one is Brent).

I love seeing daddy with his kids (can you see Jack?)

I didn’t have my zoom on but managed to catch this ground squirrel…
Sometimes my kids surprise me and not fight (and I did NOT set this shot up)
This is Brent. Hi Brent.

Another Groomer with Pet Picture

by Lucky Red Hen on June 16, 2007

Yesterday I shot the latest member of our local dog grooming shop with her pug (I’m still not sure if the dog was looking at me but we think she was). Love the colors!

P.S. If you’re a new reader and don’t know what I’m talking about… we take our Shih Tzu/Maltese doggie to our local groomer every other week and I take 8×10 headshots of all the groomers with their pet for the shop wall.

Some Funnies from the 4 Year Old

by Lucky Red Hen on June 13, 2007

Piper is in the bath playing with tub toys. She’s carrying on conversations for all critters when daddy walks into the bedroom and thinks she’s talking to him.

Daddy: What did you say, honey?

Piper: I’m not talking to YOU, daddy. (in a serious tone) I’m talking to the bucket!
—Ooh, excuse me for interupting ;o)

After a while she starts singing a song…
I am singing (with an emphasis on the middle G, like in giddy up), singing a song. My song is a booful song and I am singing it. All by myself I am singing.

Miriam's Bridals

by Lucky Red Hen on June 11, 2007

Ahh, finally… Miriam’s bridals! I was saving these for after the wedding so Nick wouldn’t see them but I guess it was inevitable that he would (they’re TOO cute).

Miriam and I drove down south to Eureka, Utah on Memorial weekend to get some rustic lovin’ in a town of about 800 residents. There weren’t many people to be seen but a silver Dodge truck kept driving past us then turning around at the end of the street to do it again. A little girl came out of an antique store holding an “open” sign pointed at us ;o) Another little girl came over and asked Miriam why she was dressed like a princess. She explained that she’s getting married. Then the little girl said, “I am going to get married someday, but not until I’m older… like 16.” hahaha We laughed inside until she was out of earshot.

Then we drove further south to the sand dunes to duck and dodge out of the way of all the ATV’s and 4-wheelers. After climing up the steep hill carrying my black chair, we had a hard time seeing anything because of the high afternoon sun but Miriam managed by closing her eyes until I said “three” and I just hoped for the best because I couldn’t get a very good reading. I think we did a’ight and I LOVE that we had some clouds in the sky.

Too many favorites, again, but I hope you like them…
