Hair

by Lucky Red Hen on October 16, 2007

What’s with hair, anyway? I’m at the in-between stage of what to do with my hair. I think I want to grow it out, because I can always go back to short, and now would be better than when I’m 50 — don’t think I can pull it off then.

So do I sit and wait while it slowly grows or do I keep trimming into a style as it grows so I don’t look like a dork in the interum?

Ive been trimming mine as it grows.Mine was VERY short…and I’m now about to chin length all the way around. It’s never felt awkward like the other times I have grown my hair out.By the way, I love seeing your photographs. They are the reason I keep coming back to your blog. You have an amazing talent!

Kristine… thanks for the compliment and for coming back! As a side note, did you know I lived in Clovis, NM for 6 years?Sue… no, I don’t think I’ll be doing extensions at $400 a pop. Yikes :o)

Oh, totally go for the cut / style as you grow. Otherwise yes, you’ll be hating life. I hate growing hair out, but hate it much less when it actually looks like I maybe WANT it to look this way. Some people were even fooled. :)

In the middle of that delema (sp?) right now. Mrs S encouraged me to go long again. Now that it is I don’t know what to do with it. The ways I used to do it are no longer age appropriate for me. Bought a hair style magazine hoping to find something to work towards. All the styles I liked were some variation on the bob like I got at Blades. I think it would be cool to fly Ed in whenever I needed him. I have never felt more happy with my hair than when I had it done at Blades. Keep us informed and good luck.

I don’t know about that. I’ve got a knitting group friend who’s 50 this year and she’s got the best hair on the planet, and it’s long and crazy. But you’re more of a classic beauty whereas she’s a euro earth mama hybrid, so maybe you should do it now.But do some shaping on the way. No need to totally hate the process.

Keep flashing your goregous and friendly smile and no one will care what your hair looks like while it’s busy growing out.

I’m in the same hair dilemma right now. My hair tends to grow into a very (ahem..unflattering) bell shape as the stacked bob style grows out. I will be having it cut and shaped as it grows.

Grow it! Trim it. What do I know. flipped a coin and you should grow it.
