~j is about to have a baby boy
Let us gather together and celebrate
next Saturday, October 7th, 2006
open house style at my home
straight up noon until 2pm.

A delicious lunch will be served.

She’ll call you from her banana phone
and give you directions if you want.

Gifts are not required, but LVC would say otherwise, I’m sure ;o)

I’ll be there. (I’m soooooooo jealous of that banana phone.)Can I bring something?

Because attending would be physically impossible for me…and awkward, ~j and the rest will have to get by without me. I’ve attended one baby shower in my life…whilst on my mission… That was one of the most awkward moments in my life. Never again, swore I. Never again. A promise I intend to keep.Good luck and all to ~j and the upcoming event(s)

Are you going to play the game where you melt candy bars in diapers? Because that is COOL.I wish I could be there. If I win the lotto between then and now I will come for sure!

I hope all we do is play games. Especially the one where you name the unlabeled baby jars. OH, and if there could be a worksheet, like a jumble, a bingo, or a mix n match, that would be great. There’s nothing like a shower where I feel like I’m back in the 4th grade on the day before Thanksgiving with a teacher who has given us WORKSHEETS disguised as games to keep us occupied.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo. Why do I have to be on a plane that day? I have been looking forward to this for weeks. I think Friday would be such a more wonderful day for a shower, don’t you? I love love love the pics of J, esp. the smiley one on top.

Wish I could be there…but I can’t….. wahhhhhIs there a registry so those of us that live FAR FAR AWAY can still send our good wishs? And as for the gifts..Lisa is right. THey aren’t required but they are SO MUCH FUN! R

WOOOOO! I love parties! Especially the ones I can go to and don’t have to clean my house. count me in! Will you please email me with your address? lorien@guyfrancis.comIs it poor form to bring a little pre-arranged something to swap with the hostess, along with a gift for the darling mother-to-be?

I’m game.

WARNING: I just found out this morning that our neighborhood is having garage sales that day from 8a-2p (in case you want to shop). I have a solid wood entertainment cabinet (pocket doors & drawers) and 3 Love Sacs to name a few things.CW – Thanks for asking… if anyone WANTS to help (no obligation but I know there are people that live for this stuff) then luncheon items (salads, bread or appetizer) would be fabulous. The guest-of-honor LOVES Clemantine IZZE, by the way. Let me know that you’ll be bringing something so I can plan for it.Lyle, So sad you won’t make it; especially after your kind comment re: me being AOL :o( heeheeNo, no games unless ordered by ~j.Sue-You could change your flight ;o)Bek, Send me $ and I’ll make sure she gets it LOL (did you get the disk yet?).Lorien… it would be RUDE of you NOT to bring a pre-arranged something for the hostess YAY!!!I’m SO excited for ~j and all of you to celebrate at my house!

I am so excited, too! Thanks for hosting this, LuckyRed. The only game I want to play is, “This is so yummy! Can I get the recipe?”

lisa v. clark September 29, 2006 at 6:40 am

~j, why are you playing with my fruit? I guess I’ll let it slide. . . anything in the name of comedy.Shan-nay-nay, I really have been looking for a couple of love sacs, and I’m not even kidding. Give me the scoop. Also, I need directions to your house, too. . . and here’s the BONUS IF YOU CALL ME: I’ll offer to bring something to the shower, something yummy, I promise. Thanks, dude.

~j. September 29, 2006 at 8:11 pm

It wasn’t necessarily for comedy…more to distract people from looking at the paint in my hair. Besides, lvc, I thought people in your family didn’t like bananas. (tee hee)

My Bro-in-law and nephew are scheduled to come into town that very day, and I am expected to be part of the Welcome Wagon, but I am going to try my best to sneak away even for a bit so I can BRING A GIFT and hug the pregnant lady and rub shoulders with the local famous and quickly eat a delicious lunch. Whaddya mean, gifts are optional? Anybody who totes a growing, kicking, shoving baby in her person for 9 months deserves all the gifts she can get. BTW, my bananas aren’t wired, so can somebody please email me directions? pogofig at gmail dot comThanks.

LuckyRedHen September 30, 2006 at 8:04 pm

I have emailed each of you who requested directions – so check your junk folder if you haven’t seen it in your inbox.

Can I come – even though I’m just a newie and a part-time blogger? Maybe I’ll stow away in CWs van…

Glo October 2, 2006 at 10:46 am

I adore that first photograph. She has so much life and strength on her face – you can take my picture ANYTIME. Wow. I’m so glad I saw this.
