She has been having a fever come and go, but mostly come. We’ve been alternating between Motrin and the Tylenol with Cold medicine (but every 4hrs, not every 2 like you can – I’m not a big druggie).
She’s relatively well behaved when sick; except when she’s eating, shivering with fever, not getting her way, wanting to jump on the trampoline or wants to get dressed and out of her pj’s. But really, she’s a trooper.
Now that she’s 3 and more verbal she can, and does, tell us what hurts. If she gets an owie she requests a “nandaid” or tells me she’s going to get “bud” (blood) from her owie if she doesn’t get said nandaid (there’s no scrape or anything). With this fevering illness, she’s been having headaches; I think. This is what she says…
“My head’s crackin’.”
Wuh? Crackin’? Alright.
Have some more medicine and how ’bout some peanut M&M’s for good measure.

Last Saturday I participated in a charity ride with 50 other bikes (mostly Harleys, but not all).
The benefit was for Sharon Christensen, mother of 5 and wife, who is in and out of a coma. Someone driving a truck with a load of sand ran a red light and broadsided her car at 50-55mph. Her husband and kids came to the Harley shop to see the turnout and thank everyone for their efforts.
Orem police stopped traffic for us to get on our way (thanks!) as we proceeded to AF Canyon for the Alpine Loop then back through Provo Canyon ending up at the shop for a live band and BBQ.
One veteran rider took a turn too wide and ended up in the brush on the side of the road (not going fast, just didn’t turn tight enough) but there were no injuries to report.
Some of us stopped at Sundance for a walk around looking at Willie Holdman art, the gift shop and the BEAUTIFUL grounds there (it IS absolutely beautiful up there). Blonde Dog (Bob) & Low Rider (Mike) got refreshments so I asked if I could get some snapshots of them – that’s when BD pulled out his moving skull ring and had it talk to me.
Nothing like a skull ring to whisper sweet nothings in your ear ;o)

I can copy like nobody’s business (and can be quoted as saying such).

I propose that everyone owning a viral shirt wears it for their next driver license picture. Then everyone will know you are an official member of the viral club. Hear, hear.
I wish on the “weight” portion we could put “fluctuates.”
After 29, I wish women’s licenses could read “old enough to know better.”
Under “hair”, I wish it could read BLONDE instead of BLD because that looks like blood or bald.
For “height”, I wish they could list in inches instead of feet; I’d be 69“.
Like our license plates, I wish we had a choice of background picture; I’d have the SLC temple.
I’m not sure what CLASS means but I wish I weren’t rated a “D”; how about A or B?
I wish everyone else in blogland would post their driver license picture.

Today has been a long time comin’ (is that the expression?). One of my missionaries (I had 4) finally got married. Out of the 4 I was for SURE this one would be married within 6 months of returning home. Well, about 8 years later he’s found his everlasting Gobbstopper. Wait. That’s not what I meant but it just fell onto the keyboard. This gal is just absolutely darling – they’re both lucky to have each other. I am thrilled that I was able to attend their wedding ceremony (a sealing, for those of you who know the lingo) just as he did mine 8+ years ago and couldn’t help but bring my camera to catch some moments (luckily their hired photographer was super-dooper-way-cool and didn’t mind me tagging along). Here are a few of my favorites from today.
Caught this little one playing on the temple steps.
This should be at the end of their album.
These are the moments I am thrilled to catch.
I heart this broach/sash combo.
This wasn’t planned – I heart capturing these moments.

My best friend, Lisa, and our friend, Karen, flew down from Seattle so we could go to the Tim & Faith concert together and it was a blast! I love them both but I’m not stalker-like with all their songs memorized. AND… we didn’t go out and buy a dorky cowgirl hats to wear for the night. Now, I’d wear my regular cowgirl hat that I’ve worn before but not INDOORS – dorks – and would only wear it if I need to keep out the sun. Like, I’ll be wearing it at Swiss Days, most likely, because it’s dang sunny Labor Day weekend out in Midway, Utah. And when I wear sunglasses I can’t see the real colors of all the art there. Plus, I don’t like looking people in the sunglasses. Anyway, that’s my soapbox on cowboy hat wearing.
Oh, and I’m a crier. I cry. At the concert I cried when Faith winked at a 10 year old girl; the little girl’s face lit up, she glanced back at her mom in disbelief then turned back to Faith who confirmed the wink with a sweet little flitter-wave. I’m a wuss. I cry. I care. I’ll beat you up if you make fun of me too – so don’t try it.
So, we all had fun hanging and giggling; eating ice cream, watching silly movies (Bride & Prejudice — we don’t recommend it), So You Think You Can Dance show, taking the girls for rides on the Harley, pedicures, shopping and all the silly things girls do together.
Oh, and I finished my motorcycle training class with flying colors (whatever flying colors means) on Sunday then passed my test on Tuesday (Monday’s are the busiest at the DMV and I couldn’t wait until Wednesday when it’s the lightest traffic). I have a paper license until the permanent one is mailed to me within 3 weeks. I’ll post it so you can see my picture. Honestly, you’ll want to come back and take a look. Seriously.
Seriously.
